This year Rugby CAMRA will celebrate their 25th Beer and Cider Festival. This will again be held at Thornfield Bowling club, Bruce William Way, Rugby. The festival runs from Wednesday 14th May Saturday 17th May 2008. For the first time we will be opening on Wednesday from 7.00 - 10.00 p.m. for CAMRA members only. The festival will be open to the public on Thursday 5.30 to 11.00 p.m., Friday 5.30 - 11.00 p.m. and Saturday 12.00 noon - 11.00 p.m. As this year is our 25th will be haveing a "Silver Anniversary" theme, including celebration ales to celebrate. As usual we will have a range of beers from our popular local breweries some of which will be unique to the festival and also a selection of ales from around Britain. There will be a fine selection of Ciders and Perries available, all sourced from small independant makers and our Bottled Beer Bar will be back after a 2 year absence, with a fine selection of beers available to drink in or take home. Hot and cold food will be availabe at all sessions as will the special souvenier festival glasses with an enhanced 1983 logo. The infamous Tombola will appear on Friday evening and Saturday lunchtime with lots of Brewery and beer related prizes. Saturday night there will be live music on stage from approx. 8.30 p.m. provided by The Net (to be confirmed). To celebrate our 25th year we are trying to source some of the beers available at our 1st Festival in 1983. We had approx. 20 beers then but at this years festival there will be 65 plus to sample. So here's hoping you come along in your hordes to sample some great beers from around the country and help make Rugby CAMRA's 25th Anniversary Festival the most successful yet. Watch this page for more details as the festival approach. See you there. Steve Durrant (Festival Organiser)
