Richard explains himself:

There could be a great deal of internal debate when choosing your top ten beers, but I rattled this list of quite easily. It is no particular order but if I had to pick one it would be Yates Bitter from north-west Cumbria would be it. All the beers do have special memories attached , as I'm sure you agree drinking a great beer is not just about how good the beer is, it is also about the company you are in and the ambiance of the location.

My top ten contains what I consider is a well rounded selection. I am a bit disappointed not to get a mild in there but there you go. There are three beers that no longer available, four from overseas and some classic British ales. I also included Davenports Top Brew Delux, even though I have never actually drunk it, as it has the best name of any beer in the world.
